Poitevin Horse – A-Z Intriguing Horse Breeds in Pictures

The Poitevin Horse (also known as the Mulassier), most often found in France, is a sturdy, cold-blooded, gaited draft. These heavy horses are used for driving, saddle work, and even for equine-assisted therapy purposes.

Poitevin mares are popularly bred to donkey sires to produce large, heavy-boned mules.

  1. This reminds me of a breed of horse that I am blanking out on... they have lots of leg hair too. I think you know it. Maybe they're on a beer commercial?
